How I use left over fabrics

I’m sharing a few pictures of shirts and kurtas that were tailored for Nehal using left over fabrics of my salwar suits/kurtis (be it bright shades of Mangalgiri cotton with zari borders, Kalamkari, crepes or silk). For a 4-5 yr old, a little over one meter of material is enough to tailor a shirt or kurta. I have a close friend who designs Nehal’s and my clothes and understands exactly what I want and never wastes any material during the stitching process.

Pictures of shirts/kurtas tailored for Nehal (my 5 yr old son) from left over fabrics of my salwar/kurtis.

Love the lime green colour fabric with block prints….where do u buy them from? I’m totally lost without a good tailor here :(

That one is a favorite of mine.:). Most of the materials are picked at local exhibitions, all Mangalagiri materials are from Mangalagiri and a few I bought at Hyderabad.

    Hi Sailu….thats a great idea…
Can you please help me…i am coming to Vizag very soon, can you give me ur friends address so that i can give some clothes for stitching when i come there……just looking for a good one…..only if u have no issues though!!

Jahnavi, she’s a good friend who used to run her own tailoring unit. She’s not running it anymore and if at all time permits she does a few of my clothes because she cannot say ‘no’ to me.:)

Excellent designs and wonderful use of material. mangalgiri cottons are so light and airy, best for the summers and hot weather. But don’t those bright colours run at times? Would love it if you add more information on the material used, including those for buttons and other works on the stuff, and an estimate range of pricing too

    Hello!

Your creative ideas that use leftover fabrics reflect well on the inherent sustainability of Indian lifestyle. The wonderful array of nice vegetarian foods and prasadams is delectable. Appreciating your work heartily.
