The third box is made of 'Kaitha Ola' which is a relative of our pineapple shrub.
They have longer leaves similar to the pineapple shrub and beautifully fragrant blossoms, which in earlier days keralite women used to pluck and leave in their wardrobes for the exotic smell which last for years. There are lots of reference to 'Thazhampoo' (flower of this tree).
The leaves are plucked, soaked and then dried to make it soft and mats and lots of other useful stuff used to be made of this. In fact my 3 year old son was gifted with a small mat made of this leaf when we were in India - for its cooling properties.
Its generally called ''Kaitha'' - look for references to these plant in Kamala Das's poetry.

I think the malayali woman must've said "ola" which means the strips of leaves from the coconut palm... they are dried well and then woven into mats, baskets and even hats..
